Mission Every person and entity has a story to tell. Since the first Japanese official delegation set foot in New York in 1860, thousands of Japanese and Japanese Americans have resided in New York, and have had an impact on a wide array of fields ranging from business to public service to art. Many became U.S. citizens, and as Japanese Americans, contributed greatly to U.S.-Japan relations by building bridges between the U.S. and Japan. FEATURED EXHIBITS Every person and entity has a story to tell. 「岩倉使節団の渡米から150年」パネルディスカッション

2022年3月24日、ジャパン・ソサエティー主催で、ニューヨーク日本人歴史博物館が「岩倉使節団の渡米から150年」特別展示の開始に合わせてパネル・ディスカッションを開催。ゲストスピーカーに、ニムラ・ジャニス著者、サンド・ジョーダン教授、若林晴子教授を迎え、使節団に同行した5人の日本人女子、ラトガース大学とのつながり、使節団のアメリカにおける人種問題に関する考察など、1871-1873年の岩倉使節団のあまり知られていない話題について、対談が行われた。
