The Digital Museum of Japanese History in New York is the first project of the Japan History Council of New York. You can search historical documents, photographs, footage, letters and news reports related to such history in New York going back to 1860. Many of the archival documents relate to the areas of politics, diplomacy, business, science, culture, education, sports, media and immigration, among others. Currently serving as the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator at the Digital Museum of the History of Japanese in New York, she focuses on spotlighting archival histories and community voices through creative content. Preserving the History of Japanese Heritage Every person, place, and organization has a story to tell. Since the first official Japanese delegation arrived in New York in 1860, generations of Japanese and Japanese Americans have lived, worked, created, and built communities across the city and beyond. Their stories have shaped New York’s history in many fields, from art, business, education, and science to community life, diplomacy, and cultural exchange. 「岩倉使節団の渡米から150年」パネルディスカッション
2022年3月24日、ジャパン・ソサエティー主催で、ニューヨーク日本人歴史博物館が「岩倉使節団の渡米から150年」特別展示の開始に合わせてパネル・ディスカッションを開催。ゲストスピーカーに、ニムラ・ジャニス著者、サンド・ジョーダン教授、若林晴子教授を迎え、使節団に同行した5人の日本人女子、ラトガース大学とのつながり、使節団のアメリカにおける人種問題に関する考察など、1871-1873年の岩倉使節団のあまり知られていない話題について、対談が行われた。
