古田土雅堂《街路》(1920年頃) (1921年独立美術家協会展)

Against a backdrop of buildings in downtown New York City, an elevated black railroad track running horizontally. The work is filled with countless geometric lines that bring to life the line of carriages running down the street and the people passing by on the road, as if one can almost hear the hustle and bustle of the city. The work of Mr. Gado is always
interesting for its unique conception, technique, and color
palette. (“Impressions of Japanese Artists at the Exhibition of the
Independent Art Association,” The Nichibei Jiho, March 5,
1921)
