The First Foreign Public Relations Magazine

Year: 1910-1912

The Oriental Review is an English-language magazine first published in 1910, and the Japanese title was renamed to Toyo Hyoron in 1911. The magazine was published by Toyo Tsuhosha, a company established in New York as a major public relations agency. The Japanese government reportedly founded the agency from the perspective that Japan lost in terms of foreign public relations at the Portsmouth Peace Conference, despite having won the Russo-Japanese war.
