This book seeks to “give a brief history of the organization of each Japanese institution, agency, store and the individual work”. According to the book, by its publication date, more than 3,000 Japanese resided in New York. The book contains nearly 100 Japanese items, and 38 English items. The book also contains the Constitution of the Nippon Club, a directory of 108 Japanese residents of New York, and histories of Japanese in New York by Mayor Seth Low and Professor George Trumbull Ladd.
